Trussville Community Cemetery
Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama
This African-American cemetery has a Birmingham mailing address but it is actually located in Trussville, Alabama. It is located at 6283 Service Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35235. There is also an old wood frame church at that location. It is an active cemetery with the first burial taking place in 1938. From Interstate 59, take Chalkville Mountain Road North for about one block and then turn right onto Service Road. Follow Service Road for about a mile. The church and cemetery will be on your right.
The monuments in the cemetery appear to date from about 1940 although there are several stones that cannot be read due to various factors. This is a true and complete transcription of the readable stones in this cemetery. I conducted this transcription on Jul 19, 2008.
